My Name is Lou Cifelli
I began taking photographs at an early age. My first camera was a Kodak Retina 2 rangefinder. My first SLR was a Yashica TL Electro X. I began shooting slide film only and developed my own slides. I shot primarily Nature. Living on the east coast the change of seasons was my favorite time to shoot. Fall colors were amazing!
As I continued to develop my photography skills I was fascinated by color and light. Having been a pencil artist color intrigued me. I began drawing when I was 8 years old. In photography light is everything. It makes the biggest difference between what is "good" and what is "bad" in a photograph. Learning the keys to manual light metering significantly improved my images.
My transition to digital cameras was in 2007. My first digital camera was a Canon 30D. On a trip to Italy I used both film and digital cameras. As the days passed on that trip I completely switched to digital imagery!
